This might be my favourite spot to eat in Waterloo. The staff is extremely friendly and the food is amazing. I would highly recommend trying it out for anyone visiting. I go out of my way to specifically eat here. Highly recommend their chicken pathia (but anything here is delicious)!

Food here is amazing. It’s consistent and high quality. The taste is really good too. And when you ask for spicy you can be assured it will be spicy. The service is also amazing. Genuinely nice folks who are willing to go above and beyond to accommodate their customers.

While other restaurants judge a person's spice tolerance (often by race), this is one of the few restaurants that don't mess around. My wife asked for Extra Hot, and boy did she get it. Food came hot and ready within minutes. Incredibly flavourful with large portion sizes. Helpful and polite staff. Highly recommended. Will be returning to eat for sure.

Kismet is definitely my favourite restaurant in KW. I've been tons of times over the last few years and always receive fantastic service and the quality of food is consistently exceptional. This was the first place I tried Indian/Bangladeshi food and I haven't found anywhere quite as good since. There are plenty of vegetarian options (my faves are the mixed veggie curry and the chana masala) and my partner has enjoyed many of the non-veg options (his fave is chicken pathia). Kismet's staff are kind and friendly -- and at this point, they recognize us when we come in. I've lived out-of-province for a while but make sure to visit each time I'm in the area and recommend to anyone and everyone!

After hearing about how good this place is for years, I finally decided to go and I'm upset that I haven't gone sooner! I ordered the Chicken Korma as suggest by one of the employees, and it was amazing. A MUST if you can't handle spice (like me). I finished it completely. The servings are really big for what you pay for and the staff is very welcoming. Definitely would go again!

Went during the month of Ramadan and the owner offered to keep the restaurant open to allow me to break fast. The food came out hot, fresh and delicious. Service was delightful as I was greeted with complimentary dates and a snack to break my fast.

Kismet is really a fortune find being truly worthy of its name. The food is luscious and homely, people are humble and caring and if you’re up for the challenge they do get really spicy.

Have wanted to try this place for over a year and finally convinced a friend to try it with me. The food was better than I could have ever hoped. We tried the Lamb Korma, Butter Chicken and Beef vindaloo and All were incredible. As expected, vindaloo made your socks fall off, but other than that everything was super tasty. This will become a place we frequent.

One of the best places to eat in the city. The food is always delicious and fresh. The best fresh naan I’ve ever had. The portions are perfectly sized and the service is friendly and efficient. Their curries are amazing. Absolutely worth a try!

Amazingly good food. If you’re a fan of spice, the chicken Bangalore is the spiciest thing in KW without a doubt.

Wish I had given this place a chance when I first came to Waterloo! Staff are extremely friendly and food was a good serving size and delicious. I got the chicken curry and asked for it to be spicier than usual and boy was it a kick - good stuff!

Portions are too small. I've gotten around to a bunch of different restaurants across Ontario and there's nothing groundbreaking about this place that merits the size containers your food comes in.

Consistently good food over many years despite located at the university plaza. I've seen so many restaurants close to university started with good food, then slowly decrease the quality yet still manage to survive (students are really not that picky with food!). But Kismet has been consistently providing great food with reasonable price for so many years. The staff are very homey and friendly too.

Food is delicious and also they come in huge sizes. I couldn’t finish my food as much as I tried. There are so many vegetarian dishes that I have to go back and try them.

This place is a treasure! Had been away from Waterloo and ended up having my very first meal here once I was back. They serve many kinds of curry, grill, and sides. Have to say that their naan is a must-try. Recommend as always!

Best place to have spicy chicken biryani

I've been here many times over the past few years and have yet to be disappointed. Time and time again I am happy with the choice of going here. It's one of the few places around with a good selection of meat and vegetarian dishes. The service is very friendly, quick, and give good suggestions to new comers. They make their own mango Lassi (for those who don't know, it's a delicious drink that I highly recommend). I highly recommend going and giving it a try!
